What Is a Hair Transplant?

Used in the U.S. since the 1950s, hair transplantation is surgery that involves removing a narrow strip of hair-bearing scalp from the back of the head and using it to fill an area with thin or no hair.
Most hair transplants are performed in the doctor's office under local anesthesia.
To transplant hair, the surgeon first cleans the scalp, then injects an anesthetic to numb the area where a 3- to 4-inch strip of scalp will be removed. After removing the strip of scalp with a scalpel, the surgeon sets it aside and sews the scalp closed. This area is immediately hidden by the hair around it.
Next, the surgeon divides the strip of removed scalp into approximately 500 to 2,000 tiny grafts containing an individual hair or just a few hairs each. The number and type of graft used depends on the hair type, quality, and color as well as the size of the area where it will be transplanted.
After the grafts are prepared, the surgeon cleans and numbs the area where the hair will be placed, creates holes or slits with a scalpel or needle, and delicately places each graft in one of the holes.
Depending on the extent of the procedure, the transplant will take approximately four to eight hours. Additional sessions may be needed if you continue to lose hair or decide you want thicker hair.

Expectations and Recovery

After hair transplant surgery, your scalp may be very tender. You may need to take pain medications for several days. Your surgeon will have you wear a surgical dressing over the scalp for at least a day or two. Your surgeon may also prescribe an antibiotic and/or anti-inflammatory drug to be taken for several days following surgery. Most people are able to return to work two to five days after surgery.

Within two to three weeks after surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out, but you should start to notice new growth within a few months. Most people will have attained 60% of new hair growth after six to nine months. Some surgeons prescribe the hair-growing drug minoxidil(Rogaine) to improve hair growth following transplantation, but it is not known how effective this is.

To start the process, spay a good quantity of Adjust-A-bond on to a piece of toilet paper that has been properly folded. You can also use a make-up pad instead of the toilet paper. You need to spray approximately 5-7 pumps of the Adjust-A- Bond.
In case you are not able to lay your hands on ProTouch Adjust-A-Bond, you can replace it with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. This you can easily find in any good pharmacy or grocery store in your neighborhood.

Once you have sprayed enough Adjust-A-Bond on the make-up pad or toilet paper pad to make it sufficiently moist, pull back the hair to hold it away from the hairline. Then use the extreme edge of the toilet paper or make-up pad to gently wipe away the accumulated dirt or even any residues of adhesive sticking to the hairline.
You need to make sure that you are do not wipe away the dirt with even the slightest roughness and it might end up damaging your hair system quite significantly. Use extremely gentle movements to wipe away the dirt in the downward direction, away from the hair. This will not only keep the hair system well protected but also ensure that its front edge remains securely bond with the scalp.

"The Wigs Josephine" help women with cancer to feel beautiful

Josephine association for women's beauty wants to revive the old patients suffering from cancer wigs through the operation "Wigs Josephine." A great initiative, launched to help women affected by the disease and who can not benefit because of their often high price (a wig costs on average between 500 and 3000 €).

Chemotherapy sessions cause most of the time the partial or total hair loss. The association therefore wants to help them regain their femininity and confidence to overcome the fight against the disease.

Once harvested, they are washed and cut by volunteer hairdressers of the association. Women will then bring them back every 3 months for a small "refresh".

The association hopes to raise many wigs and mobilize all women affected by cancer or not.

To show your solidarity, you can connect to the Facebook page of the association and take your picture with the famous pink wig Josephine. Then do not hesitate to share your shot on social networks along with the hashtag #AvecMaPerruque.

Finally, it is possible to make a donation to the association through a participatory fund raising system on www.helloasso.com

Who are all benefited by these best hair replacement systems?
Well – before going into the answer for this question, let us analyze what makes people search for Wigs. A Wig as you know is a devise to be worn upon the head to conceal the empty portion of the scalp, where there is no hair growth or the area of the scalp’s skin is bald.
This baldness is not due to aging, but is caused as premature baldness at an age (say 25 to 35) when normal persons have full of thick, bushy, curly, wavy and decent-looking hair flocks, all over their scalp. With such availability of hair, they handsomely comb their hair in different styles and command respect from others, and romantic looks from the opposite sex.
With such a scalp without hair, the total appearance of the person gets distorted as abnormal or unusual. The moment anybody sees the head, they first get amazed by the abnormality, and then realize the truth of the scalp where there is no hair; and it becomes a scene of mockery for them. They unknowingly hurt the feelings of the person without hair over the scalp, by their teasing glances and stifling laughs.
